Here at NS Architects we believe BIM processes will improve collaboration, coordination and quality in the design, procurement and management of buildings and infrastructure. Through the use of BIM, we are targeting a more inclusive, integrated and complete design process and more intelligent use of digital information to add value, reduce risk and improve product and service quality for our clients.
Within the practise we have almost 20 years of valuable BIM expertise, we have established BIM protocols including standards based on the AEC (UK) BIM Standards for Revit and a portfolio of completed projects and case studies from concept design stage to full construction documentation.
Through our investment in BIM our designs come alive from early in the commission. We use technology as a tool to deliver accomplished architecture and help realise innovative design ideas from concept sketch to site. Our experience in the construction sector allows us to approach innovation in design with not just passion but with confidence and knowledge. Creating integrated designs that are sustainable and productive is what we do and what we strive for on all our projects.
We believe BIM processes and benefits should not just be limited to the architectural and engineering design delivery and we are committed to engaging with our clients to explore the downstream potential of BIM, for example improving accuracy and speed of information delivery for measurement and costing and 4D graphics support to construction phasing and logistics planning.
BIM greatly enhances project collaboration and coordination, bringing together all those involved in the design and build process. The opportunities and challenges of working in a digital environment are hugely exciting for us as architects and designers.
Working collaboratively with clients, fellow designers, constructors and building users through Building Information Modelling (BIM), allows us to use visualisations that show how a building will feel and operate during the design stage.
Thanks to virtual modelling, we are also able to forecast how the building will function once occupied which can provide accurate costings for operation and lifecycle maintenance costs. We have been using BIM successfully as a practice since our inception in 2012 and we are very competent in our abilities to analyse and interpret the data for the benefit of our clients. A key benefit to using BIM is its ability to speed up the process meaning a building will be safe and ready to use much quicker than would be expected.
