Nick Serridge has worked for 15 years in the arena of both public and private buildings. He had the privilege of reading Architecture at both his native schools of architecture. Firstly he went to Liverpool John Mores and was later accepted into the Stirling School at the University of Liverpool. Here Nick was mentored by Richard Lavington of Maccreanor Lavington and Hans van der Heijden of Biq architecten, both highly acclaimed architects of modernist communal living in the UK and abroad. Nick eventually moved to Rotterdam in the Netherlands to further his passion for Dutch modernism and urban renewal, working for DKV Architectetn. Here he initially worked on social and private housing in Utrecht, Delft, langerach and Westerdock. He later went on to write his thesis on the Eastern docklands of Amsterdam at Borneo Sporenburg, an area that inspires him to this day. He later went on to be a senior architect at the internationally acclaimed Nightingale associates where he gained his charted in December 2005. In 2009 Nick went onto join the _Space group in Manchester. Nick was the most senior architect within the office which was ran remotely from Newcastle. Here he was responsible for some major education project on the governments Building Schools for the Future ( BSF) running 100million worth of academy, SEN and High schools across the north of England. He also work with the National trust developing the estate at Dunham Massey around the grade 1* listed building. In 2012 Nick established N S Architects Ltd. He initially started working in collaboration with cube surveyors starting with small residential project and retail / commercial work. This work later lead to delivering the redevelopment of Hartlepool Retail Park. Maintaining Nicks experience with listed buildings and the residential sector, Nick quickly merged the two areas to create a series of high quality student and apartment living spaces in two of Liverpool’s most impressive grade 2 listed buildings. Additional work has involved complex industrial, education, retail, and restaurant work which has been rolled across the UK under a turnkey solution. Nick has a reputation of working and delivering on the most demanding and complex existing listed buildings and government newbuilds from start to finish priding himself of traditional procurement. Nick is also an external examiner at the university of Denmark VIA where he mentors architectural technology students as part of their international training programme assisting VIA with end of year examinations. NS Architects LTD is an ARB registered practice. We are actively working in the regeneration of many of the North of England’s cities and towns.
Ivan attended VIA University located in Horsens, Denmark for the period of 2011 - 2015 where he achieved a Professional Bachelor's degree in the area of Architectural Technology and Construction Management. As part of his study programme he completed a year-long internship at NS Architects LTD from February 2014 to February 2015. For the duration of this practical placement he was able to successfully manage daily workloads both for NS Architects LTD and university project work. Ivan's final graduate work was a pool and snooker clubhouse and lounge. The project was taken through all essential planning stages from early concept design, through M&E, structural works, and construction principles, to project management and final construction drawing packages. Ivan's work was scrutinised by both Danish and English external examination committee and passed with flying colours. As of February 2015, and immediately upon completion of his internship and involvement with university duties, Ivan was given a permanent position at NS Architects LTD as an Architectural Technician. Throughout his stay at NS Architects LTD, Ivan has worked on projects both commercial and residential, private and public, refurbishment and newbuild, and is actively involved in listed building developments and is also part of NSA’s BIM philosophy.
With over 10 years industry experience working as an Architectural Technician, Richard has managed to gain experience of all sectors of construction, starting out his architectural career at a small firm of architects Mitchell Proctor in Chesterfield working within the residential and industrial sectors whilst working to obtain his HNC in construction. He then made a life changing decision to help further his career by moving to Liverpool working for Aedas Architects Ltd, working on the prestigious Hilton Hotel within the Liverpool One development, the new Welsh Assembly Building and various housing schemes in and around the city. It was at Aedas that Richard first experienced Revit and the BIM philosophies that were starting to appear within the construction industry whilst working on Sirius and Ganton SEN academy in Hull for the BSF framework. In February 2009 Richard began working for Ryder Architecture Ltd firstly in their Newcastle office working on 2 £30+ million projects within the Building Schools for the Future ( BSF) he was employed as a Revit technician but quickly became an active and respected member of their BIM development team, Richard then moved back to the Liverpool office working as the lead Revit technician on the redevelopment of Manchester Central Library. In June 2010 Richard began working for Gilling Dod Architects in Chorley Lancashire, here he was tasked with aiding the design team in producing a complete set of construction drawings for the £100 million Whitehaven Hospital Development. Whilst working for Gilling Dod he ventured into the Healthcare and Mental Health sectors of construction gaining valuable experience and aiding the practice to roll out Revit throughout all projects. In October 2011 Richard moved on to work for AFL Architects in Manchester, he was tasked with moving the practise forward using BIM for their entire workload of projects, this ranged from a training academy for FC Gabala in Azerbaijan within the sports sector and a ward refurbishment and provision of new theatres & ICU at Leighton Hospital. In June 2012 Richard went to work for another sector leading firm of architects Archial-Norr (formerly Ingenium Archial) based out of their Birmingham office he worked within the MOJ Judicial sectors, working on the provision of 4 custody suites, 2 for South Wales Police and 2 for West Midlands Police authorities. Richard was also exposed to MOD projects and prison works all over the country. Richard was employed as a BIM Coordinator to aid the Birmingham office in utilising Revit across the board. Once this was achieved he proceeded on to teach other offices across the UK and the United States of America & Canada. In January 2014 Richard joined NS Architects Ltd in Liverpool as their BIM Manager, since then he has helped the practice push the boundaries of BIM within their existing and proposed projects. Richard believes we have only scratched the surface of our BIM capabilities within the construction industry and is pushing for NS Architects to become a leading firm in the country.
Brian Joined NSA in 2016 as Associate Director bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to company.Brian has been involved in master planning for major education projects - ranging from the design of primary schools, though to extension and new-build projects for secondary education and university schemes. His work with Liverpool University included several projects in partnership with the Welcome Trust for the provision of Level 3 Research laboratories. He also worked on several schemes at Squibb Pharmaceuticals on the Wirral on the re-organisation and modification of several production facilities. He also has a wide range of experience in retail schemes, appraising and re-planning, altering, and extending shopping centres and retail parks.
Stephen Graham is an Architect who graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006 (Part I) and again 2009 (Part II); completing his Part III in September 2013. His experience also spans 10 years in the media industry, working in various design departments predominantly in set design. Steve holds a firm belief that sketching; hand drawing and the use of physical models, photography as well as testing through installation and construction are vital to the design process. Stephen has worked in Dubai for a specialist housing architect and a high end developer contractor in Liverpool specialising in Hotels and residential projects including the Hilton in Liverpool 1
